VPI Trade Union Organizes Meaningful Activities to Commemorate International Women’s Day on March 8
(PetroTimes) – On the occasion of the 115th International Women’s Day (March 8, 1910 – March 8, 2025), the Trade Union of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute organized a visit for its female staff to the Hoa Lo Prison Relic and the Vietnam Women’s Museum.
At the Hoa Lo Prison Relic, the delegation offered floral tributes at the memorial to pay homage to the heroic martyrs who valiantly fought and sacrificed their lives for the national liberation struggle; they also toured the prison cells and the exhibition areas displaying historical artifacts at the location once known as “hell on earth.”
Despite having to live under extremely harsh conditions in cramped spaces lacking basic living necessities and being continuously subjected to torture and beatings, the revolutionary fighters persevered in their struggle, transforming the prison into a “revolutionary school” – a place of enlightenment and dissemination of the Party’s revolutionary doctrine.
On this occasion, the delegation also visited the Vietnam Women’s Museum – a unique cultural space that preserves and exhibits both tangible and intangible heritage, honoring the cultural and spiritual values of Vietnamese women throughout history. There, the female staff of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute listened to an introduction about the resilient, indomitable, loyal, and capable image of Vietnamese women, as well as their significant roles and contributions in building and defending the nation.
Ms. Vu Thi Thao, Member of the Executive Committee and Head of the Women’s Union of the Trade Union of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute, shared: “This series of activities is not only an opportunity to pay tribute to and honor the female staff of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute on International Women’s Day, but also serves to educate about historical traditions, spread the patriotic spirit and national pride, and especially affirm the important position and role of Vietnamese women in the new era".
The program is one of the many meaningful activities organized by the Trade Union of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute on the occasion of the 115th International Women’s Day, demonstrating the union’s care and concern for its female staff while also providing opportunities for exchange, learning, and connection among various units.
